¿Por qué decimos que el hipérbaton altera el orden oracional?
A diferencia del latín y otras lenguas, en español las oraciones tienen un orden SVO (Sujeto Verbo Objeto): ⠀
Por ejemplo (a ver si descubrís la canción):
- Su recuerdo lo ocupa todo.
La alteración de este orden a veces produce un efecto poético y ese fenómeno se llama hipérbaton:⠀
- Lo ocupa todo su recuerdo.
¿Entonces está bien alterar el orden de las oraciones? ¡Depende!
Si estás escribiendo un poema o una canción, es lícito (y hasta deseable) usar el hipérbaton como recurso poético.
De hecho, probablemente logres un efecto súper original y dejes a todo el mundo pensando.
Pero ¿qué pasa con los textos académicos, administrativos o cualquiera que tenga un fin «comunicacional»?
En esos casos, alterar el orden gramatical puede provocar ambigüedades y crear confusión en el sentido de tu enunciado. Por esta razón, se recomienda evitar el hipérbaton.
Sin embargo, en la oralidad, algunas veces se nos escapa. Por ejemplo, un compañero de la oficina te informa: «Va a venir a retirar el dinero un chico que se llama Pablo después de las cinco de la tarde».
La oralidad no se corrige, como mucho, hacemos chistes malos como el que sigue:⠀
—Hola, ¿se encuentra Pablo?
—¿Qué Pablo? ⠀
—Pablo Después De Las Cinco ⠀
En cambio, en el lenguaje escrito es mejor prestar atención y organizar el hipérbaton cuando es involuntario , como en el caso anterior.
De este modo, evitamos el efecto de ridículo y las ambigüedades:
«Después de las cinco de la tarde, va a pasar un chico que se llama Pablo: viene a retirar el dinero».

Como vimos, el hipérbaton es la alteración del orden natural de la oración.
A menos que busques un efecto poético en tu escritura, te sugiero organizar los hipérbatos. De este modo evitarás ambigüedades lingüísticas y malentendidos.
Para hacerlo, solo debés mover los complementos de la oración hasta conseguir que el orden sea sujeto-verbo-objeto.
